What's brought this on?

「どうしたの、突然?」
"What (has) brought this on?"は、「なにがこれをもたらしたのか？」、転じて「なんで突然そんなことをしてるんだい？」、「何が原因ですか？」という意味になります。
ex: I don't know what brought on his sudden anger.
（彼がどうして急に怒り出したか分からない）

「昨日ロトで大当たりした夢を見たんだよ」
"hit the jackpot"は、「金持ちになる、お金が当たる」という意味。同じ意味の表現として"make a fortune," "become rich," などもあります。
ex: I hit the jackpot playing roulette in Las Vegas.
