Claire: Gosh, it’s crowded everywhere! Shall we check out the pay parking lot around the corner?

Dave: I’ve already looked, but that place was full, too.

Claire: Shall we make one more round in case there is any vacancy?

Dave: (Sighs) But honey, we’ve been driving around the same area for a while. Why don’t we go up north and check other blocks?

Claire: But that would be too far away from the cinema! I don’t want to walk for blocks just to see a movie…What was the point in driving all the way here in the first place?

Dave: OK, then. But don’t start complaining if we make another few trips around this block and missed the next showtime.

Claire: I won’t! There’s still plenty of time left. Life is long.

Dave: I hate it when you sound optimistic and I feel fed up stuck in the car…

（角にある有料駐車場を見てみようか？）
「駐車場」はparking lot（イギリスではcar parkとも言います）、「有料」と言いたければそれにpayをつければいいのです。

Shall we make one more round in case there is any vacancy?

（空きがないかどうかもう一回りしようか？）
トイレの「空き」のことはvacantと言いますが、普通、vacancyというと「（駐車場などの）スペースの空き、空き部屋、欠員」のことを言います。数えられる名詞であることに注意。
Ex) There is a vacancy in Tom's office.
　（トムのオフィスに欠員があるんだ。）

What was the point in driving all the way here in the first place?

（何のためにそもそもここまで運転してきたんだか？）
point in …で「…するだけの価値」という意味。よくpoint ofという人がいますが、point inが正解。
Ex) There is no point in doing that.
　（そんなことしても何もならないよ。）
In the first placeは「そもそも」。

I hate it when you sound optimistic and I feel fed up stuck in the car…

（君が楽観的になってて僕が車の中に閉じ込められてイライラしてる時っていやなんだよな…）
hate itのitはいわば「仮目的語」で、その後のwhen以下を先取りしている形になっています。

D: じゃあわかった。でも、この辺りをもう何回かまわってそれで次の映画の始まる時間に間に合わなくても文句を言うなよ。

C: 言いません!時間はまだ十分あるわ。人生は長いんですもの。
