Martin: Hey, I’ve just thought of another great song. “American Woman.” Do you know it?
Raeleen: “American Woman”? Yeah, that’s an awesome song. But I can’t for the life of me remember who sang it.
Martin: Oh, I know! It was… Huh? Who was it?
Raeleen: I hate it when this happens! I’m not going to rest easy now until I’ve remembered who it was.
Martin: I’m pretty sure they were a Canadian band.
Raeleen: Canadian…? It wasn’t “The Great White”, was it? I’m sure it’s a name that sounds like that.
Martin: Yeah! It starts with “The…” Oh, damn! It’s on the tip of my tongue!
Raeleen: “The…” “The…” I got it! “The Guess Who!”
Martin: That’s it!

"for the life of me"は、「どうしても〜」という意味。
ex) That girl over there was my classmate at kindergarten, but I can't for the life of me remember her name.

I'm not going to rest easy now until I've remembered who it was.
"rest easy"は、「安心する、納得する」という意味。
ex) I won't rest easy until the plane lands.
（飛行機が着陸するまで安心できない）
I'm pretty sure they were a Canadian band.
"I'm pretty sure"は、「たしかに〜と思う」という意味。"I'm sure"よりさらに確信が高い場合に使います。
ex) I'm pretty sure the building you are looking for is next to the post office.
（あなたが探している建物は確か郵便局の隣にあると思う）

"It's on the tip of my tongue"を直訳すると、「舌の先に乗っている」。転じて、「思い出しそうけど、なかなか口から言葉が出てこない」という意味合いになります。
