Christy: Dad, guess what? Katie won tickets to the N’Sync concert next week! Isn’t that cool?
Dad: Really? How did she manage that?
Christy: She won a radio call-in competition. She just so happened to be the first caller to get through and she answered all the questions they threw at her about the group, so they gave her two free tickets!
Dad: Well, she must be pretty pleased with herself, then.
Christy: Are you kidding? She’s over the moon! She even got backstage passes so we’ll be able to meet the boys in the flesh!
Dad: We? Who’s we?
Christy: She asked me to go with her. Isn’t that cool? I can go, can’t I Dad?
Dad: Now, now, aren’t we being a bit hasty here? I thought we made a deal that you would knuckle down and study after your terrible grades at school last term. I don’t think you should be going to pop concerts when you have exams coming up soon.
Christy: But Dad! This is a once in a lifetime chance to meet N’Sync! I’ll never get the chance to do this again! And besides, it’s only one night. I promise I’ll study really hard for the rest of the term if you let me go.
Dad: I’m sorry Christy. You’re not going to the concert. You’re going to stay at home and study for your exams!
