E: Honey, I’ve just had some bad news. Zach was hospitalised today
for a heart condition.

I: Oh my God, will he be OK?

E: Well, they’re going to operate tomorrow but it sounds like they
managed to catch it before it got too bad.

I: Well that’s a relief. Poor Madison must be frantic. I’ll have
to give her a call.

E: That’s probably a good idea. Honey, there’s some more bad news too.

I: What?

E: Well, Zach’s going to be out of action for quite a while. His
doctor said that he won’t be able to come back to work for at
least four months.

I: Oh, that’s terrible!

E: And seeing I’m the most senior member of our section, that means
I’m going to have to work extra hours to cover for him while he’s
away. Which unfortunately means that trip we were planning to
Acapulco in the spring is out the window.

I: Oh no! I was really looking forward to that too.

E: Sorry honey.

I: It’s not your fault darling. We can always go to Acapulco
another time. What really matters now is Zach and his family.
I’ll go and give Madison a call now.
