Jane: I’d better go now. I want to catch the last train home.

Ken: Let’s call it a night, then.

Claire: (To a waiter) Check, please…thank you. Let’s split the bill, shall we?

Jane: Of course. Thank you, Claire, for arranging the dinner tonight. It was fun.

Claire: Oh, the pleasure is mine. You seem to be awfully busy these days, so I wasn’t quite sure if I could really ask you for this kind of occasion.

Jane: Oh, I can set aside time for this kind of quality time, anytime.

Ken: Let’s go, ladies…do you have everything?

Claire: Yeah. Oh no, I left my cell in the bathroom. Jane, you can go if you’re in a rush. Don’t wait for me.

そのまま使える便利なフレーズを覚えましょう。

Let's call it a night, then.

（じゃあ、今夜はこの辺でお開きにしようか。）
call it a day/nightは「今日／今夜はこれぐらいで終わりにする」という意味。必ずitを使うと言うことに注意してください。

Let's split the bill, shall we?

（割り勘でいいわね？）
「割り勘にする」には色々な表現があります。少々古い表現だとgo Dutch、二人で支払うのなら go halves/fifty-fifty (on the bill)などがあります。

Oh, the pleasure is mine.

（やだ、こちらこそ。）
お礼を言われたときの受け答えは色々ありますが、the pleasure is mineはかなり上級者編。My pleasure.と言うよりもさらにへりくだった感じがしますね。

I can set aside time for this kind of quality time, anytime.

（こういう充実した時間のためなら、いつだって時間をあけられるわ。）
こういう場合のset asideは「時間をとる」という意味。quality timeは「充実した時間、価値のある時間」という意味で、家族や同僚、友達、恋人などと過ごす時間に対しても使うことができます。

Do you have everything?

（忘れ物はない？）
日本語では、どこかを去る前に「忘れ物ない？」と聞くのが普通ですが、英語ではあまりYou haven't forgotten anything?とは言いません。「全部持った？」と聞くのが普通です。

I left my cell in the bathroom.

（トイレに携帯忘れてきたわ。）
cellはcell phoneの略。「携帯番号」もcell numberと言うことがあります。

英文と比較して内容をしっかり確認しましょう。

クレアと同僚のケンとジェーンは一緒に夕食をとっている。

J: もう行かなくちゃ。終電に乗って帰りたいから。

K: じゃあ、今夜はこの辺でお開きにしようか。

C:(ウェイターに)お勘定お願いします…ありがとう。割り勘でいいわね?

J: もちろん。クレア、今日は食事会をアレンジしてくれてありがとう。楽しかったわ。

C: やだ、こちらこそ。最近すごく忙しそうだから、こういう会に果たして呼んでいいものかどうかわからなかったんだけど。

J: あら、こういう充実した時間のためなら、いつだって時間をあけられるわ。

K: 皆さん行こうか…忘れ物はない?

C: うん。あ、やだ、トイレに携帯忘れてきたわ。ジェーン、急いでるのなら行っていいわよ。待ってなくていいからね。
