Sean: I like this restaurant. They always bring your food quickly. How’s the steak, Jim?

Jim: It’s good, thanks. Now, let me see if I’ve got this straight. Sparks Electronics is about to consolidate its shares, which are now selling for 20 cents. When this happens, Panasonic is going to announce its plan to use a revolutionary, new microchip that Sparks has patented for its products, right?

Sean: That’s the ticket. And as soon as that announcement is made, Spark’s newly consolidated stocks are going to skyrocket. Apparently this new invention of theirs is incredible. The consolidation is just to protect the company’s interests once the news goes public.

Jim: So, if we buy now, we stand to do very well, huh?

Sean: Exactly. In a deal like this, with Panasonic on board that little electronics company stands to make a fortune. Especially if this chip is as good as they say it is.

Again Sean has some illegal information, this time regarding a big deal between Panasonic Inc. and a small company -- Sparks Electronics. In this conversation, Jim uses the expression: "let me see if I've got this straight." This expression is often used when someone wants to clarify an explanation: especially if it is complicated or surprising. After this is said, the speaker restates the main points of the explanation to clarify the meaning. Sean then goes on to say, "that's the ticket." This is a slang expression that means basically, "that's right."
