Elliot is talking to his girlfriend Sara about her home country, New Zealand.

night?
Sara: No, I missed it. What programme was that?
Elliot: That travel programme hosted by Benjamin Hawkes, you know the one,

Sara: Oh, you mean “Up and Away”?
Elliot: Yeah, that’s it. I was blown away. The scenery was just
amazing.
Sara: Where did he visit?
Elliot: Mount Cook and the Marlborough Sounds, I think. It looked
stunning.
Sara: Yeah, it is pretty spectacular there.
Elliot: And the seafood! It looked so good! You know, I’ve been
thinking. We were planning to go to New York in the spring,
right?
Sara: Yeah.
Elliot: Well, why don’t we splash out and go to New Zealand instead?
I mean, it’s been a while since you’ve been back and I’m dying
to see the place. And your parents would be glad to see you too.
Sara: New Zealand? Well, that would be nice ? but we’ll have to
really tighten our belts over the next couple of months. A trip
to New Zealand is going to cost a tad more than just popping over
to New York.
Elliot: We can do it, no problem. I just got that pay rise last month
and you’ve been doing all that extra work on the side lately,
so it won’t be that much of a stretch.
Sara: Hmmm, true. Well, I’ll check the internet for airline tickets
then. End of March, right?
Elliot: Yep. There’s only one hitch. I can only take ten days off
then. What do you think? Will it be long enough?
Sara: Yeah, I’m sure we can work something out. I’ll get right onto
it!

「感動したよ。」
"blown away"で「感動する、関心する、驚く、圧倒される」という意味のイディオム。衝撃を受けたこと、びっくりしたことを表現する時によく使う表現。
ex. I went to see Madonna in concert and I was blown away by her performance.

「あのさ、思い切ってニュージーランドに変えてみない?」
"splash out"で「派手にお金を使う、思い切ってお金を使う」という意味のイディオム。"splashy"は「派手、目立つ」という意味なので、派手な行動を表現するイディオムによく使われている。他にも"splash one's money about" 「札びらを切る」、"make a splash"「注目を引く」、"splash story"「新聞の一面記事」という表現がある。
ex. My boyfriend splashed out and bought a new sports car.
(私の彼氏は思いきって新しいスポーツカーを買いました。)
I’m dying to see the place.
「それにあの場所見たくてたまらないんだよね。」
"dying to 〜"で、「〜たくてたまらない」という意味のイディオム。他にも、"give one's right arm to 〜"、"give one's eye teeth to 〜"、"be keen as mustard to 〜"という言い方がある。
ex. I've been dying to go to Paris ever since reading "The Da Vinci Code".
「“ダ・ビンチコード”を読んでから、パリに行きたくてしようがない。」

"tad" で「少し、ちょっと」という意味になる。"pop over to 〜"で「ひょっこり立ち寄る、急にやってくる」という意味になる。他に"pop"を使うフレーズは、"pop back"「急いで戻る」、"pop up"「フッと現れる」、"pop down to 〜" 「〜に行く」、"pop in"「ちょっと訪ねる」、

you’ve been doing all that extra work on the side lately
「君だって最近、副業でバイトしてる」
"work on the side"で「副業」という意味になる。意味が結構広いで、「ちょっとしたバイト」から「サイドビジネス」までの意味が含めている。
ex. I've been doing some work on the side to save money.
「お金を貯金するためにバイトをしています。」
There’s only one hitch.
「ただ一つだけ引っかかることがあるんだ。」
"hitch"で「障害、問題、引っかかること」という意味。反対に、"without a hitch" で「無事、都合良く、順調に」という意味になる。
ex. The wedding went off without a hitch.
「結婚式は無事終わりました。」

「早速調べてみるよ。」
"get onto 〜"で「早速〜をする」という意味のイディオム。他にも"get even with 〜" 「〜に仕返しをする」、"get butterflies" 「ドキドキする、緊張する」、"get the boot" 「くびになる」など、"get"を使うイディオムはたくさんある。
