Elliot: You were right about it being chilly here. I’m glad I brought
my jacket with me.

Sara: Yeah. It’s usually a couple of degrees colder in the south.
I’m sure it’ll warm up as we head north.

Elliot: So, what is there to see?

Sara: I thought we could wander over to the city centre and see the
Cathedral. There are a lot of Gothic style buildings here, and
a lot of people say that Christchurch is more English than
England.

Elliot: Gothic buildings, huh? I thought Christchurch was famous for
its gardens.

Sara: It is. But you can see that already just looking at these private
gardens. Aren’t they beautiful?

Elliot: Very impressive. From what I’ve seen so far, it certainly is a
picturesque city.

Sara: We’ll wander over to the Botanical Gardens later too.
Unfortunately we’re in between seasons so it won’t be in full
bloom, but I’m sure it’ll still be pretty.

Elliot: I heard there’s a tram here too. Is it worth riding?

Sara: Yeah, it takes you around all the attractions downtown. The
Arts Centre, the Art Gallery, Cathedral Square, the Botanical
Gardens, punting on the Avon…

Elliot: That’s right, they have gondolas here too, don’t they?

Sara: Yeah. I’ve never been on one though. It might be a little cold
for that today anyway.

Elliot: Yeah, I agree. Now let’s see, according to this map, the restaurant
Bob recommended should be just around this corner.

Sara: Brigitte’s Espresso Bar. There it is!

Elliot: Great! I could eat a horse!
