"a dead ringer for〜"で「〜にソックリ、とてもよく似ている」という意味のインフォーマルな表現です。おなじ「似ている」という意味の"take after"よりその度合いが強いニュアンスがあります。
ex: I spotted a girl who was a dead ringer for my ex-girlfriend!
