Sam is at an information office asking about a hotel to stay at.
Clerk: Good afternoon, can I help you?
Sam: Yes, good afternoon. I’ve just arrived in town and I’m looking for somewhere to stay.
Clerk: I see. What price range are you looking at?
Sam: If possible, something under $60 a night would be good.
Clerk: Certainly. There are several cheap hotels nearby. The closest and one of the nicest is the Devon Hotel. It’s just around the corner.
Sam: That sounds great. How much is it a night?
Clerk: Their single rooms start at $55. Would you like me to call and see if they have any rooms available?
Sam: No, that’s OK. I’ll just wander over there myself. You say it’s just around the corner?
Clerk: Yes, that’s right. Just turn left out the door and walk until the end of the block, then turn left again and it’s the third building on your left. The Devon Hotel is a big red-brick building. You can’t miss it.
Sam: Great! Thanks for your help.

そのまま使える便利なフレーズを覚えましょう。
What price range are you looking at?
「お値段はどのくらいで？」
"range"は「範囲」という意味で、"price range"だと「値幅」になります。このフレーズは、インフォメーションセンターでホテルを探す際に必ず聞かれますので、ちゃんと覚えて、すぐ答えられるようにしておきましょう。
ex: Russia is satisfied with the oil price range of $20-25 per barrel.
（ロシアは1バレルあたり20ドル〜25ドルの石油の価格帯に満足している）
If possible, something under $60 a night would be good.
「できれば、一泊60ドル以下が希望なんですが」
希望を述べる際に"If possible"を用いて、「もし可能ならば」という意味の表現になります。
ex: I guess it would be better to patent it before releasing it to the public if possible.
（できれば、一般公開する前に特許権を取得した方が良いと思う）
It's just around the corner.
「すぐそこですよ」
"around the corner"は「すぐそこに」という意味のインフォーマルな表現です。物理的な距離はもちろん、なにか物事が近々起きそう、というときにも使えます。
ex: Christmas is just around the corner.
（クリスマスがもうすぐやってくる）
Would you like me to call and see if they have any rooms available?
「お電話して空き部屋があるかどうか確認いたしましょうか？」
"see if"は、「〜が可能かどうか試してみる」といったニュアンスの表現。
ex: Check it out first and see if this is true before you send it to others.
（まずはちゃんと確認して、本当かどうか確かめてから、他の人に送ろう）

「すぐに分かりますよこのまま決まり文句として覚えておきましょう。「見逃すことはできない」→「すぐ気が付く」ということ。道案内の表現としてよく使われます。
