Al is working on the computer when he notices that something is wrong and decides to ask his wife Peg for help.
A: Peg. Could you come here for a minute?
P: What? What is it, Al?
A: I think there’s something wrong with the computer. It’s really
slow when I try to open programs, and just now it froze on me.
P: Did you run a virus check?
A: No, not yet. I was going to when the system re-boots.
P: It could be a worm. Did you open any strange junk mail or anything?
A: I don’t think so. Although, there was this one that had an
interesting looking link, and when I went there it was nothing but
a dumb picture of some guy.
P: Al! You know you’re not supposed to open strange links. I’ll bet
anything you let a worm into the system.
A: How was I supposed to know!? What the hell is worm anyway?
P: It’s like a virus. It can be hard to detect, and it usually comes
in through false links or junk mail. You have to be more careful,
Al.
A: Alright. Alright. Calm down. The system’s back on-line. I’ll run
a virus check.
P: Be sure to do a thorough one. Lord knows how many of those things
you let into the computer.
A: Yes, dear.

“a minute" は、直訳すると「一分」ですが、よく会話の中で「ちょっと、少々」など、わずかな時間を表す表現。 “ a second," “a sec," も同じように使う。
Ex. Do you have a spare minute?

（たった今、フリーズしちゃったよ。）
“〜 on me" は、「私に〜をする、私を当てに〜をする」という意味。何か悪いことが誰か・何かのせいで自分に影響を起こす時のことを表現する。
Ex. Don't hang up on me!
（電話を勝手に切らないで！）
You know you're not supposed to open strange links!
（変なリンクを開いちゃダメって分かってるでしょ！）
“not supposed to 〜" は、「〜をしてはいけないことになっている」という意味。反対に、“supposed to" は、義務、規則、約束などにより、「〜をすることになっている」という意味。
Ex. You're not supposed to wander the school grounds at night.
夜に学校の校内を歩いてはいけない。
I'll bet anything you let a worm into the system.
（きっと、システムにワームを入れたに違いないわ 。）
“I'll bet" は、「きっと〜でしょう、〜に違いない」という意味。
“I'll bet you a thousand dollars," “I'll bet anything," など、価値のある物を “I'll bet" の後に入れるという言い方もある。
Ex. I'll bet you a million dollars that they're going to split up.
100万ドルを賭けてもいいが、彼らは別れると思うよ。

A: いや、まだ。システムを再起動してから、しようと思った。
P: ワームかもしれない。変なジャンクメールか何かでも開いた?
A: 開いてないと思うよ。でも、一つ、面白そうなリンクが入ってたメールが
あって、開いてみたら、訳の分からない男の変な写真しかなかったんだ。
P: アル!変なリンクを開いちゃダメって分かってるでしょ!!きっと、
システムにワームを入れたに違いないわ 。
A: 分かるわけないじゃん。っていうか、ワームっていったい何なの?
P: ウィルスみたいなもの。検知しにくい場合もあって、大抵、偽リンクとか
ジャンクメールから侵入してくる 。アル、もうちょっと気をつけなきゃ
ダメよ!
A: 分かった、分かった。落ち着いて。システムがオンラインに戻ったよ。
ウィルスチェックをしてみる。
P: しっかりやってね。どのぐらいのウィルスをコンピューターに入れたのか
分かるもんか!
A: はぁぁ〜い。
