J: It was great to catch up with Ted and Maggie again after so long.
Life in Spain has obviously done wonders for their relationship.

V: You reckon?

J: What? You think they’re putting it on?

V: Well, I’m sure Maggie is as besotted with Ted as she ever was,
but I’m not so sure that Ted is being such a good boy.

J: Why is that?

V: Because he spent the whole night playing footsy with me under the
table.

J: What? With his wife sitting next to him the whole time?

V: I’m glad you’re as outraged as I am. But then, given his track
record of womanising, it didn’t really surprise me. It was a
bit annoying though, trying to put my feet out of reach of his
the whole night. I should have just given him a swift kick.

J: You think Maggie knows?

V: The way she was downing the Dom Perignon tonight, I doubt it.
She drank more than the rest of us put together.

J: I must admit she was pretty out of it by the end of the night.

eye, huh?

“do wonders" は「奇跡的なことをする、驚くべき効果を生じる」という意味になる。Do の代わりにwork, performでも大丈夫です。
Ex. Moving to Florida has done wonders for his health.

You think they're putting it on?

「それじゃあ、彼らは、そういうふりをしているって言うの？」
“put it on" にはいくつかの意味がありますが、ここでは「ふりをする、大げさに表す」という表現。その場の状況により、「人が太る、気取る、高価をふっかける」という意味にもなる。
Ex. She's not sick. She's just putting it on.
（彼女は病気じゃないよ。ただ演じているだけだ。）

I must admit she was pretty out of it by the end of the night.

「彼女帰る頃には泥酔状態だったのは認めるわ。」
ここでの “out of it" は、「酒にひどく酔って、泥酔して」という表現になる。その他、「ボーッとして、だるい、仲間はずれで、時代遅れの、精神状態が異常で」などの意味もある。Out of itを使った表現をいくつか紹介しましょう。Take the fun out of it 「楽しみをうばう」、snap out of it「目をさます、元気を出す」、feel out of it「場違いな感じで」などもあわせて覚えておくと便利でしょう。
Ex. I tried to talk to him but he was really out of it.

Wow, guess there's more to their relationship than meets the eye, huh?

「そっかぁ、あの2人の関係は思ったほど単純じゃないってことなのね？」
“there's more to 〜than meets the eye" で「見た目以上に〜だ、思ったほど単純ではない」というイディオム。隠れた素質や背後に理由・事実などが隠されている時に使う。またeye の代わりにear でもＯＫです。
Ex. There's more to her than meets the eye.
（彼女には単に目に見える以上の資質がある。）

V:ドンペリをあの調子で飲んでたから、どうかなって思う。私達3人合わせ
たよりも飲んでたもん。
