M: Are you OK, Kevin? You’re looking a little flushed.

K: Actually, I don’t feel very well at all.

M: What’s the matter?

K: I have a splitting headache and I feel like I’m burning up.

M: You probably have a fever. Have you taken anything for it?

K: Yeah, I took a couple of aspirins at lunchtime, but they don’t
seem to be doing much good.

M: How long have you been feeling like this?

K: Well, to tell you the truth, I’ve been a bit under the weather
all week. I thought I would be OK by now, but it seems to be
getting worse.

M: I think you’d better get to a doctor. It sounds like you have
the flu.

K: Maybe you’re right. I’ll have a word with the boss and see if
he’ll let me take half a sick day this afternoon.

"flushed"は「赤くなった、紅潮した、意気揚々として、上気した」
という意味。動詞"flush"には、「赤面させる、ざっと水をかけて
〜を流す、活気付ける、興奮させる、怒らせる、かき立てる、好景気の」
などの意味がある。カメラのフラッシュは、"flash"でスペル、
発音共に違うので注意。"flash"にも、「（顔が）ぱっと赤くなる
（紅潮する）」という意味がある。
Ex: Am I flushed? I'm a bit drunk.
（私の顔、赤い？ちょっと酔っ払ったな。）

Well, to tell you the truth, I've been a bit under the weather all week.

波が高い時に船に乗った人が、船酔いして気分が悪くなったことに
