J: Hey Matt, how was your weekend?

M: Oh, not bad thanks. I didn’t really do much, just kinda lounged
around at home. Oh yeah, I watched that DVD that Nick lent me.

J: That horror movie?

M: Yeah, but it was more like a comedy. It was so bad it was funny!
But don’t let him know that! Where is he anyway? It’s almost 9.

J: Amy said he called in sick this morning. A stomach bug or
something.

M: Didn’t his parents come over from England recently?

J: And they’re still here as far as I know, so he must be pulling a
sickie.

M: So anyway, what did you get up to?

J: We went to the outdoor market in Devonport on Sunday. They always
have cheap fruit and veges, and they have that cute little donut
making machine.

M: Oh yeah, I’ve seen that! Is that market every Sunday?

J: Yeah, I think so. It’s not as big as it used to be apparently,
I mean, not so many little shops there. Oh, here comes the boss,
look busy!

"lounge around"は「（家の中などで）怠けてぶらぶら時を過ごす、
　　のらくら暮らす、ぶらつく」という意味。名詞"lounge"は、日本で
　　使われている「休憩室、待合室」という意味の他に、「寝いす、長いす」
　　という意味もある。
Ex: I spent the weekend lounging around with a book.
（私は週末に、本を読んでゴロゴロした。）

休んでいるに違いないわね。）
"pull a sickie"は「仮病で休む、（病気ではないのに）有給休暇を
取る」という意味のオーストラリア・ニュージーランドのスラング。
　 "chuck a sickie","take a sickie"という言い方もある。
「仮病を使う」という言い方には、"fake sickness", "pretend to
be ill", "sham illness", "get conveniently sick"などもある。
Ex: I pulled a sickie and went to Disney Land yesterday.
（昨日、仮病を使ってディズニーランドに行っちゃった。）

So anyway, what did you get up to?

（それより、何をしたの？）
"get up to"は「〜をする」という意味で、話し言葉で使われる。
「（いたずら・悪事などを）しでかす」という意味で使われる場合も
ある。他には、「（人・場所などに近づく、追いつく、（ある所）まで
達する、進む」という意味もある。
Ex: He's always getting up to no good.
（彼は、いつもいたずらをしている。）

いるに違いないわね。

M: それより、何をしたの?

J: 私達は、日曜日にデボンポートの青空市に行ったの。いつも、安い
果物や野菜があって、かわいいドーナツ製造機があるのよ。

M: あ〜あ、それを見たことあるよ!その市場は、毎週日曜日なの?

J: ええ、そうだと思うわ。昔ほど大きくはないみたいね、というより、
あんまりお店がないの。あっ、ボスが来たわ、忙しそうにして!
