Claire: Honey, you remember the invitation Michael sent us for his wife’s birthday party? We need to respond. Are we going or not?

Dave: Let’s see…do you want to go? When’s the party anyway?

Claire: Sunday two weeks from now. I’m happy to go, but Michael’s your boss, so isn’t it better for you to go?

Dave: Hmmm…(stays silent for a while).

Claire: (Approaches him) Honey, what are you doing?

Dave: Just writing some mails to my friends. Why?

Claire: Look. As I said earlier, we do need to tell them whether we’ll be there or not. The invitation says RSVP by the 10th, and it’s already the 12th! It’s your boss’ party, and it concerns you rather than me, and stop that multitasking! I hate it when you do that! You listen to me while I’m talking to you about something important.

Dave: I am listening to every single word you say.

Claire: But you’re not paying attention.

Dave: OK. I’ll talk to Michael about it in person tomorrow. And…when did you say the party is?

どうってことない表現ですが、語順を間違えがち。しっかりと覚えてください。

The invitation says RSVP by the 10th.

（招待状には10日までに返事してくださいって書いてある。）
RSVPはフランス語のrespondez s'il vous plaitの略で「お返事ください」という意味。よく招待状などに書いてあります。RSVP, pleaseといった、pleaseにあたるs'il vous plaitの後にまたpleaseをつける表現（「お返事くださいませませ（？？）」もあります。また、RSVPで「返事」そのものを意味することもあります。
Ex) RSVP would be nice.
　（お返事をもらえると嬉しいです。）

Stop that multitasking!

（一度にいろんなことをするのはやめて！）
multitaskingは「複数の仕事を同時進行させること」。現代ではあたり前のことになってきましたね。

I'll talk to Michael about it in person tomorrow.

（明日、マイケルに僕が会って話しておく。）
in personは「直に会って」という意味。以下のような使い方もします。
Ex) I saw the baseball player in person yesterday.
　（昨日、あの野球選手を生で見たよ。）

D: そうだね…君は行きたいの?パーティーはそもそもいつなんだ?

C: 2週間後の日曜。私は行きたいけれど、マイケルはあなたの上司だから、あなたは行った方がいいんじゃないの?

D: うーん…(しばらく黙ったまま)

C: (夫に近づく)ねえ、何してるの?

D: 友達にメールしてるだけだよ。どうして?

C: ちょっと。さっきも言ったけど、行くのか行かないのか先方に言わなくちゃいけないの。招待状には10日までに返事してくださいって書いてあるのに、もう12日よ!あなたの上司のパーティーなんだから、私よりもあなたの問題でしょ、それに一度にいろんなことをするのはやめて!あなたがそれするの、私嫌いなの!私が大事なことについて話をしている時は聞いてよ。

D: 君が口にする言葉は一語一句聞いているよ。

C: でも注意してないでしょ。

D: わかったよ。明日、マイケルに僕が会って話しておくから。で、パーティーはいつだって言ったっけ?
