Dave: What do you make out of this metrosexual trend, honey? Personally, I can’t stand men plucking their eyebrows and overgrooming themselves…
Claire: Actually, I have no particularly strong opinion against them. In my opinion, the more beautiful they get, the better. You know, many men used to be a little too indifferent to fashion or the way they looked. I was a little astounded when the first generation of the metrosexual breed came out, of course, but now…I’m getting used to it.
Dave: Hmm…that’s interesting.
Claire: But my question is whether those men are grooming themselves to impress women—what do you think?
Dave: I’m not one of them, so I’m the wrong person to ask, but…I believe men traditionally do something other than dressing themselves up in order to attract the other sex.
Claire: Like…?
Dave: Like…trying to show how much strength we have, or how much we can do at work, for instance.
Claire: I see…but as far as I remember, you simply chatted me up and showed me neither when we first met…

（この「メトロセクシュアル」トレンドについてどう思う？）
metrosexualとは「自分の身につける物やスキンケア、ライフスタイルにこだわる都市部の異性愛者の男性」の傾向のことを指します。日本でも最近、こういう男性は増えてきましたよね。もともとこの言葉は、90年代にイギリスのジャーナリストがmetropolitan（都市在住者）とheterosexual（異性愛者）を組み合わせて作った言葉だそうです。
What do you make out of…は「…についてどう思う？」という意味。make out ofには「解釈する」という意味があるんです。

（眉毛を抜いたり自分の身づくろいに必要以上に手間ひまかけるのは理解できないんだけど…）
can't standは「我慢できない」という意味ですが、今回は文字通り「理解に苦しむ」という意味で使っています。overgroomはgroom（身づくろいをする）に「過剰な」(over)をつけ加えて作った言葉です。辞書には載っていないかもしれませんが、ネイティブも日頃から使っていますので、ご安心を。

（メトロセクシュアルの第1陣が現れた時は少しびっくりしたけどね。）
astoundedは「仰天する」。ちょっと大げさめに「びっくりした」と言いたい時に使えます。breedは「品種、種族」という意味ですが、このように、何か同じ傾向を持つ人たちをまとめていい表す時に使えます。breedのかわりにspecies（種、人種）を使ってもいいですね。
Ex) Those kinds of coy women are becoming rare species.
（あの手のこびを売る感じの女性は今では珍しくなってきている。）
I'm the wrong person to ask.
（僕に聞くのはお門違いだけど。）
「そう聞かれても自分にはわからないよ」と相手の質問を受け流す時によく使う表現です。wrong person の前にthe がつくことに注意してください。

（あなたは単に言いよってきただけ。）
chat upは「（男性が女性に）なれなれしく話しかけてくる、言い寄る」という意味。
