Dave: Oh, sorry, I didn’t even realize I was zapping though…
Claire: By the way, honey, what do you normally do with paperbacks you’re done with? Most of the time, when I finish a paperback, I never go back to it. So I want to do away with them, but I just can’t throw books away, can I?
Dave: Well, one solution would be to put them on an online auction…since you’re a Net person…but in that case, I think books need to be in pretty good condition.
Claire: I never dreamed you’d ever suggest anything to do with the Net!
Dave: Or, you can take your books to a bookstore just by the station…you know the 10-story building? The one in that building. They don’t buy your books, but they let you trade them in for other books.
Claire: That sounds handy. I might check out that place.

チャンネルを（リモコンで）コロコロ変えることをhop channelsあるいは、後にでてくるzap through（そもそもは「ざっと目を通す、素早く動く」という意味）と言います。
