the next thing I knew, this gorgeous man just popped out of nowhere and offered to help me.

(気づいたらイイ男が突然現れて手伝おうと言ってくれたの。)

“the next thing I knew” で「気付いたら」という意味。
Ex. I was just skiing down the slope, and the next thing I knew,
I was on the ground with a ski boarder's foot in my face.
(私はただ、ゲレンデを滑っていたけど、気付いたら倒れていて、
スノーボーダーの足が顔に当たっていた。)

Well, he's kind of under the impression that I can cook・・・

(彼は私が料理ができると思ってるみたいなの・・・。)

“under the impression that 〜” で「〜だと(誤って)思いこんでい
る」という意味。 “impression” で「印象、感想」という意味で、他
にも、“give the impression”「印象を与える」、“get the
impression”「印象を受ける」、“leave an impression” 「印象を残
す」“first impression”「第一印象」という表現に使われている。
Ex. I was under the impression that you would be coming.
(私は、あなたが出席すると思い込んでいた。)

the next thing I knew, I'd made a date for next Saturday!

(気づいたら、今度の土曜日にって約束しちゃってたの!)

“make a date” で「人と会う約束をする」という意味で、異性とデート
することではない。時間と場所を決めて、誰かに会う約束という意味で、
相手は同性の場合でも異性の場合でも使う。異性とデートすることは
“have a date” 又は “go on a date” となる。
Ex. Why don't we make a date for Friday?
(金曜日に会いましょうか?)

And that's not the worst of it.

(しかもそれだけじゃないのよ。)

“the worst of it” で「〜の一番悪いこと」という意味。色々と話を
して、最後に一番大変なことをいう時に使う表現。
Ex. The worst of it is, she's pregnant and she doesn't know
who the father is.
(一番悪いのは、彼女は妊娠していて、誰が父なのか分から
ないことだ。)

Well, you've really stepped in the proverbial haven't you?

(あーあ、どうしようもないね。)

“proverbial” は普段「ことわざの、ことわざに使われている、おなじ
みの」という意味の形容詞だが、ここでは名詞で、「お決まりのあれ」
という意味になる。名詞として使われる時は、よく知られているイディオ
ムの中の言葉と入れ替えて使う。本当は、入れ替えられた言葉を残して
その前に “proverbial” を入れて使うのが文法的に正しいが、誰でも
知っているイディオムにしか使わないため、 “proverbial” だけを使
っても通じるので、会話で時々使われている。“Well, you’ve really
stepped in the proverbial haven't you?” の場合の決まり文句は、
“you've stepped in the shit” 「ヤバイ状況を起こしたね」(直訳
すると、「糞を踏んだね」)になり、“proverbial” を入れると、
“you've stepped in the proverbial shit” 「お決まりの糞を踏んだ」
となり、ここで “shit” を取って、 “you've stepped in the
proverbial” ということになる。どうしようもない時の表現によく
使われている。
Ex. You’re up the creek. → You're up the proverbial creek.
(ヤバイな、君。)

るのは、“it's time to 〜”という表現が、これを使う場合は “to”

(何とかするためにはまだ三日あるから。)

“hash out” で「話し合って決定する、徹底的に論じる」という意味。
“hash” で「細かく刻む」という意味で、他にも “hash session”
「雑談」、“make a hash of 〜” 「〜を台無しにする,〜をめちゃく
ちゃにする」のフレーズで使われている。“hash” はスラングで
「大麻」という意味もあるので、使い方には注意を!
Ex. You need to sit down and hash out your differences.
(あなた達は直接会って、違いを徹底的に話し合う必要がある。)
