Alistair: Hey Claudine, did you bring this dessert?

Claudine: Yeah, I found the recipe on the net so I thought I’d give it
a try.

Alistair: What? You made this?! I thought you’d bought it!

Claudine: Really? Well, that just made my day! Did you try some?

Alistair: Are you kidding? I’m already onto my second helping and
just as soon as I finish this, I’m going back for a third!
What’s in it?

Claudine: All your favourite things! The dark pink sorbet in the middle
is raspberry, the middle layer is strawberry ice cream, the
outer layer is vanilla ice cream and the base is sponge cake.

Alistair: These nuts are really good too!

Claudine: Yeah, I chopped the nuts up and coated them in caramel before I
decorated the dessert. I put some inside as well, just to give
it some extra crunch.

Alistair: But surely you bought the sauce, right?

Claudine: The raspberry sauce? No, I made that. It’s basically the same
as the sorbet, except I pureed it and took the seeds out.

Alistair: Wow, it looks really difficult to make.

Claudine: Not really, because the only thing you really have to make from
scratch is the raspberry sorbet and the nuts. Other than that,
the ice cream and sponge cake is all store-bought. Putting it
together takes a bit of time though, because you have to freeze
the thing for about half an hour after you add each layer, then
once it’s all put together, you have to freeze it overnight.

Alistair: Well, I would definitely say it’s worth the effort. This is the
best dessert I’ve had in a long time! Now, if you’ll excuse me,
I’m off to get helping number three!
