Thats’s what I call a salad!
Eddie and Rachel are flatmates. It's Eddie's turn to cook but he discovers there is no salad dressing.
Dialog

Eddie: Oh darn!
Rachel: What’s wrong?
Eddie: I made a spinach salad but we’re out of salad dressing.
Rachel: I’ll throw one together for you if you like.
Eddie: Thanks! What do you need?
Rachel: Well, let’s see what we have. Honey, balsamic vinegar, garlic,
tarragon… I should be able to do something with all this. Could
you do me a favour and grab some basil and green onions from the
garden?
Eddie: Sure. I’ll be back in a flash.
Rachel: Oh, and Eddie! Can you pick me some parsley too? Now, let me
see, I hope we have olive oil. Hmmm… oh yes, here it is. Right
then, a little balsamic vinegar, a teaspoon of honey, a little
tarragon…
Eddie: Is this enough?
Rachel: That looks great. Can you chop all that up finely for me and
throw it into that bowl?
Eddie: With the brown stuff? What is that?
Rachel: Balsamic vinegar with a little honey. I’m just chopping up this
garlic to add, and once the herbs are all in, we just need to add
some oil and it’s done.
Eddie: Great! Well, I’ll dish up the salad, then.
Rachel: Wow, that looks colourful!
Eddie: Yep, spinach, carrot, red pepper and orange. And a few sunflower
seeds thrown in for some extra crunch!
Rachel: Yum! Now that’s what I call a salad!

Oh darn!
(あっ、しまった! )
“darn”は“damn”の遠回しの語で「しまった、畜生、くそっ、参った、
困った、弱った」などの意味があり、通常怒り・困惑・失望など不快な
感情を表すが、驚き・感嘆・同情などを示すこともある。
Ex: Darn! I left my bag on the train!
(しまった!バックを電車の中に忘れた!)
I made a spinach salad but we're out of salad dressing.
(ホウレン草のサラダを作ったけれど、サラダドレッシングを切らしているよ。)
“out of 〜”は「(一時的に)〜がなくなって、〜を切らしている、
不足して」という意味。その他「〜の中から外へ、〜の届かない
ところに、〜からはずれて、〜と無関係になって、〜のない状態に」
という意味もある。
Ex: I'm out of money!
(お金がない!)
I'll throw one together for you if you like.
(何なら、私が有り合わせのもので作るわ。)
“throw together”は「(食事・機械など)を大急ぎで〔寄せ集めて〕
作る」という意味。他にも「集める、(仕事など)をいい加減にやる、
(人を)偶然にあわせる、仲間にさせる」という意味もある。その他
“throw”を使ったイディオムには、“throw about”「撒き散らす、
浪費する、(権力などを)振り回す」、“throw aside”「放棄する、
(人)と関係を絶つ、(忠節など)を捨てる」、“throw away”
「(物)を捨てる、(機会など)をふいにする、見逃す、無駄に費やす」、
“throw up”「(食べたものを)吐く、もどす」などがある。
Ex: I didn't have time to cook so I just threw a sandwich together.
(料理をする時間がなかったからサンドを急いで作った。)

(これこそまさにサラダね!)
“Now that/this is what I call〜.”は「これこそ本物の〜だ、これぞ
まさしく〜だ」という意味。“that/this”を強く言う。
Ex: That is what I call a Cinderella story.
(それこそまさに、玉の輿ね。)

R: はちみつが少し入ったバルサミコ酢よ。私は、加えるにんにくを
刻んでるの、ハーブが全部入ったら、オリーブオイルを加えて
出来上がり。
E: よし!じゃあ、サラダを盛り付けるよ。
R: うわ、彩りが良いわね!
E: ああ、ホウレン草、にんじん、赤パプリカにオレンジ。それと、もっと
歯ごたえを出すために、ひまわりの種を少し入れたよ!
R: おいしそう!これこそまさにサラダね!
