John and Emily are geography students at university. They have exams coming up soon and are talking about how they feel about them.

John: So, how’s your revision been going?
Emily: Ok. Sometimes I have good days, but sometimes I just can’t keep focused. It’s hard to keep motivated.
John: Tell me about it! If there’s a good football match on, or if some friends are going to the beach or something, I find it hard to say ‘no’. If I do say ‘no’, then I find it difficult to study without thinking about the match or my friends having a good time at the beach!
Emily: Yeah, I know what you mean. I can’t wait for these exams to be over. It’ll be so nice to be able to relax properly.
John: Hey, we should do something to celebrate when we finish. It’ll also be something to look forward to.
Emily: Great idea! Do you have anything in mind?
John: Well … I was thinking of going to the beach and watching a football game!

「復習はちゃんとやってる？」
"how's your 〜 going"は、相手の仕事や生活の調子を尋ねる表現です。関連表現として、"How's life treating you?"、" How's life?"、"How's your life?"「元気？調子はどう？」というインフォーマルなあいさつ表現も覚えておきましょう。
ex: How's your Japanese going?
（日本語の勉強はどうですか？）
Tell me about it!
「ホントそう！」
直訳すると「そのことについて私に教えて」という意味のように思えますが、実は「そんなこと私にわざわざ言わなくても、よくわかってる」という意味の表現。
相手の言葉に対して、「私も同じ境遇だ、同じ目にあったことがある」と、共感や同情を示すために使われます。
ex: "That was a great movie!"
"Tell me about it!"
「あの映画は最高だったね！」
「そうだね！」
I find it hard to say 'no'
「なかなか断れないよ」
ここでは"find something 〜"で、「somethingを〜と思う、〜と感じる」ということ。
また、"say no"は「ノーと言う」。すなわち、「嫌だと言う、断る」。
ex: I find it difficult to imagine what it would be like to be someone else.
（自分以外の人間になるとどうなるだろうと想像するのは難しいと思う）

相づちの表現で、相手の意見などに対して深い共感や理解を示すときに使います。
