Valerie has offered to babysit her brother Cameron's baby daughter Pippa for the day.

C: Hi Val, we’re here! Can you take Pippa while I bring in the bags?

V: Sure thing Cam! Now, where’s my little bubby-boo? There you are!
Look at you! Aren’t you a little cutie? Yes you are. Yes you
are.

C: Now, there’s milk in this bag here, and nappies in that one.
Kirsty also put in a change of clothes in case you have any
accidents.

V: Look at your tummy! What a fat little tummy-tum-tum you have!
Aren’t you a chubby little bubby. Yes, you…

C: Val, are you listening to me? Can you tear yourself away from her
for one minute?

V: Oohh, look Pippa, daddy’s throwing a wobbly.

C: VAL! I’m in a hurry! Now, Kirsty just got a new cellphone so you
can reach us on that if anything happens. This is the number.
We’ll be back at around five this evening.

V: OK, OK. We’ll be fine, don’t worry. Won’t we Pippa? Because
you’re a good little bubby, oh yes.

C: (Sigh) See you at five.

V: Let’s say bye-bye to daddy Pippa. Bye-bye!

Explanations

Sure thing Cam!

ex. "Can you pass me the butter?" "Sure thing."

Kirsty also put in a change of clothes in case you have any accidents.

ex. I'd love to stay the night, but I didn't bring a change of clothes.

Can you tear yourself away from her for one minute?

ex. He can't tear himself away from the TV.

daddy's throwing a wobbly.

ex. Timmy threw a wobbly when he broke his new toy.

Now, Kirsty just got a new cellphone so you can reach us on that if anything happens.

ex. You can reach me at work tomorrow.
