Wayne comes home from work and finds his sister Erin watching TVA. She had to wait all day for the repair man to come and fix it, and she is not too pleased about it.

W: Hey, Erin.
E: Hey.
W: All right. The TV’s fixed.
E: Oh it’s fixed alright. I had wait around for the stupid repair man
all day.
W: Really? I thought he was supposed to come in the morning?
E: That’s what I thought too. I waited until lunch and finally called
the repair company, and they told me that the repair man who was
supposed to come fix our TV had been called out on an emergency job
and would be a little late. I figured by “a little late”, they
meant maybe one or two o’clock. The guy didn’t show up until 4:30.
W: You’re kidding. That’s ridiculous.
E: And the worst part is that it only took 20 minutes to fix the
stupid thing. I was so mad. They wasted my entire day.
W: Did you complain?
E: Of course I complained. The guy just said sorry and that he was
really busy.
W: Man, you can’t count on those guys at all.

（よし、テレビは直ったな。）
"fix"はこの場合「元の（正常な、本来の）状態に戻す、直す、修理する、
修繕する、回復させる、治療する」という意味。その他、「固定する、
設定する、決める、じっと見る、整える、買収する」など様々な意味が
ある。
"all right"は、ここでは、「やった！、よし！」という意味になる。
何かいいことがあって、喜んでいる時によく使う表現。他には、
「大丈夫、結構、構わない」という意味もある。
Ex: Can you fix my shoes?
（靴を直せますか？）

（馬鹿な修理屋をイライラしながら、一日中待たせられたのよ。）
"wait around"は「いらいらしながら待つ、あたりをウロウロしながら
待つ、ブラブラしながら待つ」という意味。"wait"を使ったイディ
オムには、"wait and see"「様子を見る、時機を待つ」、"wait till
〜"「〜したら驚くよ、〜をお楽しみに」、"hardly wait to 〜"
「早く〜したい、〜するのが待ち遠しい」、“wait in"「（来客や電話
の予定があるので）家で待つ、家にいる」などがある。
Ex: I was waiting around for my boyfriend.
（私は、ボーイフレンドをブラブラしながら待っていた。）
The guy didn't show up until 4:30.
（その人、4時半まで現れなかったのよ。）
"show up"は「現れる、姿を見せる、顔を出す、来る、出現する、
出頭する」という意味。予定より少し遅れてくる場合などによく使われる。
"appear"と同じ意味。他には、「（物・本性などが）はっきり見える、
暴露する、恥をかかせる、（人を）しのぐ」という意味もある。
Ex: Kevin finally showed up at the party.
（ケビンはやっとパーティーに現れた。）
Man, you can't count on those guys at all.
（やれやれ、あの連中は絶対当てにできないな。）
"Man"はこの場合は間投詞で「やれやれ、うわ」という意味。喜怒哀楽
いずれにも用いることのできる言葉。「やれやれ」という意味では、
"boy", "good grief", "Dog my cats."などの言い方もある。
Ex: Man, that car is so cool!
（うわ、あの車、すごくかっこいい！）

無駄にしたのよ。
W: 文句言ったのかい?
E: もちろん、文句を言ったわよ。あの人、本当に忙しかったので、
すみませんとだけ言ったわ。
W: やれやれ、あの連中は絶対当てにできないな。
