Andy finishes his visit with Miles and comes out to send Sadie in. Despite the assurances of Andy and the doctor, she still feels bad about what happened.

Sadie: How is he? Is he okay?

Miles: Sadie, it’s alright. My heart’s been giving me trouble for a long time. If anybody’s to blame it’s me. I should’ve taken better care of myself…Today…I wanted to go outside. It was a nice day, and I was sick of being cooped up in my room. I walked around and bought those flowers and then came by your place.

Sadie: Yes, but still, the flowers, if…

Miles: Sadie, the point is I chose to go outside. I chose to go for a walk. I could have simply just come by your place, but I was stubborn and didn’t want to waste another day in my room. I over exerted myself. I should have known better.

Sadie: Alright, I guess…

Miles: I tell you what. I get out of here tomorrow. I think I would be less tempted to do such a foolish thing, if I had some company. If you have time, would you like to stop by?

Sadie: Sure. I mean, if you think it will help…

Miles: I’d be grateful. But for now I think should sleep. I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?

Sadie: Yeah, sure, sorry. Goodnight, Miles. I’ll see you tomorrow.

There’s not too much new information here. Sadie still feels bad about the argument she had with Miles the day before, and she still doesn’t believe that she had nothing to do with Miles’ being in the hospital, despite the reassurances of both Andy and the doctor. Miles recognizes that she is upset, and goes on to explain that he had gone for a walk in order to be outside in the nice weather. He had intended to come over to Sadie’s anyway to see her, but the walk was what proved to be too much for his heart to handle. This seems to reassure Sadie, and in order to show that there are no hard feelings, Miles even invites Sadie to come by his apartment when he is home the next day.
