R: Hello.
Q: Hi, would we be able to use your internet facilities?
R: Sure, we have a computer you can use in the back room.
Just come through.
Q: Thanks. How much is it?
R: $6 an hour. We’ll charge it to your room. Here you are.
Help yourself and give me a yell when you’re finished.
Q: Sure thing. Thanks. (to Emily) Do you want to go first?
E: No, you can. I need to send a couple of e-mails to the office
so it may take a while.
Q: OK, all I want to do is check the footy results so I’ll be done
in a jiffy… If the page’ll ever open, that is.
E: Oh my, that is a slow connection.
Q: It’s taking its time coming up, that’s for sure.
You’d think a hotel like this would have broadband.
E: You’d think. There’s no way that’s broadband.
It’s got to be dial-up, being that slow. Did she say she was
charging us by the hour?
Q: Yeah, six bucks.
E: It’s going to take an hour for the page to even come up.
Maybe we’d be better off trying an internet cafe downtown.
Q: You’re probably right. What’s the time?
E: 8:35.
Q: Then we might still be able to make it. I think the one downtown
closes at 9 o’clock.
E: Well, what are we waiting for, then? Let’s get a move on!

（ご自由にどうぞ。終られたら大きな声でお知らせください。）
"help yourself"は、セルフサービスの時などに使われる決まり文句で
「ご自由にどうぞ、ご自分でお好きなように」という意味です。
友達同士なら「好きに勝手にやってね」のような感じです。
"yell"の名詞は「大声、叫び声」、カタカナ語では「エール」と言い
ますが、発音が違うので音声を聴いて確認してくださいね。
Ex: Wow! You did cook all dishes here?

（そうだよ、好きに取って食べてね）
★★★Do you want to go first?
（先にやりたい？）
"go first"は「最初に行く」→「最初にする、やる」のことで、
もちろん何をするときにも使えます。集団でいるとき何かするときは
よく使うでしょう。
Ex: "Who will go first?" "I will!"
（誰が最初に行くの？／するの？）（わたし！）
★ OK, all I want to do is check the footy results so I'll be done in a jiffy…
（ＯＫ、僕はフットボールの結果が知りたいだけだから、すぐ終るよ・・・。）
"all I want to do is 〜"は「したいことの全ては〜」→「望むことは
〜することだけ」。"footy"とは「footballフットボール」のこと。
"in a jiffy"は「今すぐ（に）、ちょっとの間に」という意味です。
"moment"は "jiffy"の同意語。
Ex: I'll be back in a jiffy.

★★★Let's get a move on!
（急ごうよ！）
"move on"だと「先へ進む、進歩する、〜に取り掛かる」
「昇進する」などですが、"get a move on"では「急ぐ、始める」
「急げ、どいて、早くして」になります。違いに注意してくださいね。
Ex: Let's get a move on or we'll miss the last train!
（急ごう！でないと終電逃しちゃうよ。）
