Claire: Honey, you’re not going to sleep all day, are you?
Dave: Uh…what time is it?
Claire: Almost ten. It’s such a lovely day, so why don’t we go out and have brunch in the sun? What about the new outdoor cafe just around the corner? My friend said they have excellent eggs Benedict and waffles.
Dave: Uh…OK. But honey, could you just give me another half an hour? You know I’m not a morning person.
Claire: I know, but darling, I’m getting hungry. I don’t think you can resist the golden-brown, crispy waffles smothered in maple syrup. What do you say about that?
Dave: Oh…you’re so mean, honey. You know my soft spot, don’t you?
Claire: Come on, you can be an early bird for a change. The waffles are waiting for you…
Dave: OK, OK. But can I take a quick shower first?

just around the cornerは「角を曲がってすぐ」という意味のほかに、「すぐそば」という意味もあります。比喩的に使えば「もう間もなく」という意味にもなりますね。
