Tanya and Sadie continue their conversation from before. As they are
talking, they see a report of an accident on TV, and Tanya rushes
off so as not to be late for work.
get oneself together
Tanya: Was that Jimmy?
Tanya: Well, what did he want?
Sadie: Same thing as you, pretty
much. He asked how I was doing and wanted to know if I was serious
Tanya: What'd you say?
Sadie: Well, you heard, didn't
you, Tanya? I said yes.
Tanya: I was just making sure…It's
not going to be the same without you know. I mean, you me, Dave
and Jimmy, we've been working together for over four years now.
Sadie: You knew this day would
come sooner or later, Tanya. I mean I wasn't planning on working
Tanya: I know. I mean, who would.
I just thought we'd be together a little longer.
Sadie: Tanya, it's not like we're
never going to see each other again. We're still friends. Besides
when I get myself together I might start looking into….what are
you looking at? (Tanya is staring at the TV)
News Reporter: As you can see the
pile-up is concentrated on the east side of the bridge, but due
to the nature of the accident, traffic is slow-going in both directions.
Police and rescue workers are doing their best to clear up the scene,
but it could be a while yet before things are back to normal.
News Anchor: And you say, Dan, that
the details of the accident are unknown at this time?
News Reporter: Well, they're still
in the midst of clearing things up so the rescue officials haven't
released any kind of statement yet, but it appears that a taxi lost
control, swerved briefly into on-coming traffic and then crashed
into the side of the bridge. That seems to be the cause of the pile-up,
but beyond that details are sketchy. Fortunately, I have received
a report that there were no serious injuries, and that those who
were injured are being treated now…
Tanya: Shit! That's the Front St.
Bridge. Oh man, it's going to take me forever to get back downtown
now. I'm sorry, Sadie, I gotta go or I'll be late. I'll come by
again tomorrow. We can have coffee or something.
Sadie: Sure. Take care, Tanya.
