Sadie gets a call from her manager, again he is concerned about her
get a shiner
get back on one's feet
Jimmy: Sadie? Hi. It's Jimmy. How
Sadie: I'm alright, thanks. How
Jimmy: I could be better. But,
no, seriously, how are you doing?
Sadie: I'm fine. Really. The injuries
weren't that serious. They let me out of the hospital around four
this morning. I do have a pretty bad shiner, though.
Jimmy: Well, thank god!… I'm relieved
to hear that… I'm just glad Dave and I got there when we did, before…you
know…before something worse happened.
Sadie: Listen, Jimmy, I just want
to say thanks for…well, for saving me last night.
Jimmy: Hey, no problem. I'm just
sorry we didn't get there sooner…but…but don't worry Dave and I
took care of that asshole. And the cops've got him now, so he isn't
going to bother you anymore.
Sadie: Tanya told me. She's here
now. I really do appreciate what you and Dave did for me. You be
sure to thank him for me, okay?
Jimmy: I will, definitely. Say,
I know last night you said you wanted to quit, but you know…if you
want some time to rest and get back on your feet, you can come back
Sadie: That's nice of you, Jimmy,
but I don't think I can come back. You don't really forget a thing
like that, and being there at the club it just…it'll be a constant
reminder. I don't know how comfortable I'd feel…
Jimmy: I kind of figured that.
If you ever change your mind, though, you're always welcome…I'm
really sorry this had to happen to you, Sadie.
Sadie: It's okay. Thanks, Jimmy.
Jimmy: Well, I gotta go. Look,
I'll call you soon. Dave and I'll come by and visit.
Sadie: That'd be nice. Bye, Jimmy.
